Spend is easy. Turning it into conversations isn't.

I'm Abdul Rehiman Parkar. For nine years I've built the funnels that carry a stranger from an ad impression to a signed deal — in the categories where a human closes the sale. Travel, property, healthcare, B2B events. Budgets from AED 3K to AED 40K a month.

Click-to-WhatsApp barely registers in Western marketing. In the Gulf it's how travel, property and healthcare actually acquire customers — and almost nobody optimises it properly.

Al Maqam

Digital Marketing Specialist
Aug 2023 – Dec 2024
AED 12K monthly spend, peak month

Problem

Ads were pushing clicks into WhatsApp, but only one in forty became a real conversation. The media buying was fine. Everything after the click was leaking.

Move

I stopped optimising for cheaper clicks and started optimising the first line a customer reads. Hooks, offer framing and opening messages tested week after week, with segment-specific creative replacing one-size-fits-all campaigns.

Result

Three times as many clicks turned into conversations — same budget, same audience, same market.

Takeaway

Most accounts don't have a traffic problem. They have a first-message problem — and it's far cheaper to fix.

Case 02 / Organic & AI visibility

Orient Holidays
& Al Maqam

Two group websites
Rebuilt 2026
SEO, content & web

Problem

Both brands ran on paid media alone. Orient Holidays had no analytics installed at all — no GA4, no Search Console — so organic performance wasn't just poor, it was invisible. Nothing could be measured, so nothing could be improved.

Move

Rebuilt both sites around how travellers actually search, and instrumented them properly from day one. Then published destination guides and holiday FAQs written for UAE travellers — the questions people genuinely type — rather than generic brochure copy.

Result

844 queries ranking across the two sites, 328 organic clicks and 30 contact enquiries in 28 days. On the newer site, ChatGPT already sends more sessions than Google — the content is being surfaced by assistants while it is still climbing Google.

Google ChatGPT Copilot Bing Instagram Snapchat

Orient Holidays had no analytics at all before the rebuild — its first month of data is the first the brand has ever had on organic search. It now ranks on non-branded intent terms such as “beach holidays from Dubai” and “Seychelles holiday packages from Dubai”.

Takeaway

Content written the way people actually ask questions gets surfaced by more than one search engine.

Case 03 / B2B exhibitions, three continents

Vertex Next

Digital marketing consultant
Consulting engagement
Mid five-figure AED budgets

Problem

Three international B2B exhibitions — power and water infrastructure in Lagos, IoT across West Africa, data centres and cloud in Ontario. Each one needed two completely different audiences filled at the same time: thousands of free delegate registrations, and a much smaller number of exhibitors and sponsors worth several thousand dollars each. One campaign cannot do both well, and most event marketing tries anyway.

Move

Split the funnel in two and stopped pretending it was one. Volume campaigns on Meta and Google carried registration, optimised on cost per registration. LinkedIn carried the exhibitor and sponsor side, targeted by job title and company against a defined list of infrastructure, telecom and energy accounts, optimised on cost per qualified enquiry — a number many times higher, and worth every dirham of it. I pushed them to lift LinkedIn targeting to manager level and above rather than buying reach across the whole job function: fewer people, better people, cheaper outcome. Separate landing pages, separate tracking, separate reporting, so neither number could hide inside the other.

Result

On the Canadian event, cost per lead fell from AED 22.71 to AED 4.36 — an 81% reduction on the same campaign, from tightening targeting and rebuilding the creative. The structure itself proved repeatable across three markets I don't live in, in English, to audiences that buy nothing like a Gulf consumer does.

The programme

Global Data Centre & Cloud Expo — cost per lead

AED 22.71Before
AED 4.36After

Power & Water Nigeria & IoT West Africa — Lagos

Co-located programme. Shared audience infrastructure, separate registration funnels and creative. The Lagos edition drew around 5,000 visitors to the Landmark Centre.

Ontario, Canada

North American enterprise audience: data centre operators, hyperscalers, cloud providers, enterprise CIOs. LinkedIn targeting narrowed to manager level and above.

−81%

cost per lead on the Canadian event, on the same campaign — from narrowing the audience rather than widening the budget.

Sponsors these events sold to

Schneider Electric ABB Siemens Eaton Corning Equinix

Cost-per-lead figures are from the paid media I ran. Full event results sit under NDA and cover PR, email and other activity I wasn't part of — so I don't claim them. The 5,000 attendance figure is the event's own published number, not a campaign result.

Takeaway

Budget size doesn't change the discipline. It changes how many things you can test at once — and how fast you find out you were wrong.

Case 04 / B2B tech, Dubai

Hirecraft

Digital Marketer · 2021–2022 · AED 30K+ monthly spend

A services business with a long sales cycle and no dependable source of inbound enquiries. Paid and organic ran as separate efforts, neither feeding the other. I put search intent at the centre of both — SEO earning the qualified traffic it could, paid covering the terms organic couldn't reach yet, and creative tested against cost per lead rather than clicks.

Bayside

Marketing & Technology Executive · 2019–2020

The site was slow, awkward to use, and every content change needed a developer — so it rarely got updated. Marketing was bottlenecked by its own infrastructure. I rebuilt it around how people actually moved through it, instrumented it so performance could be measured, and added automation that let the team publish without waiting on anyone.

What people say

Not just
my word.

Abdul managed our campaign budgets across Power & Water Nigeria, IoT West Africa and our Global Data Centre & Cloud Expo in Canada. He understood that an exhibition has to fill two very different rooms at once, and built delegate registration and sponsor outreach as separate efforts with separate measurement. His willingness to work across unfamiliar markets set him apart.
